As Easter nears, we have a brand new Scratch Beer and the season opener for our Food Truck!
To start, we’re canning a limited run of a new Crispy Keller Bier, and it goes on sale Thurs/April 1.
The curiosity of our brewer’s brain and the quest for subtle complexity put us on the path to Scratch #432. German pilsner malt and red wheat set up a crisp backbone. A kolsch yeast fermented at an ale temperature (58°F for you homebrewers out there) helped us keep a lager profile while allowing some subtle fruity esters to sneak in. Dry-hopping with Huell Melon and Citra layer in very soft and subtle notes of bright berry and orange rind. It clocks in at 5.2% ABV.
“You shouldn’t have to think about this beer too much,” says brewermaster John Trogner. “Just enjoy the subtle complexity.”
And on Fri/April 2, we’re throwing open the window on our Food Truck! The truck will be open 4-9 p.m. Friday and 11-5 Saturday (or while the specials last!).
Thanks to our friends at Bow Creek Farm in Hershey, we’ll have Smash Burgers made with local beef and topped with Cooper sharp, lettuce, onions and pickles. We’ll also have Falafel Burgers with lettuce, onion and cucumber yogurt sauce and Lamb Kofta Skewers with Tzatziki sauce. And don’t miss our Duck Fat Fries with malt vinegar aioli and rosemary hop salt.
And heads-up! We’ll be closed Easter Sunday. Find our full beer and food menu and get all the details on visiting Tröegs.
