Coming to Tröegs on Jan. 24 – It’s Double Nugget.
This delicious spin on an iconic Tröegs beer will be available on draft and in 16-oz. cans here at the brewery. Also, a limited amount of 16-oz. cans will be available in stores, and draft will be available at select First Squeeze release parties.
The idea for Double Nugget was hatched by our Scratch Beer Creative Team. In late 2020, they started talking about how to push Nugget Nectar into “Double Nuggs.”
Our brewmaster John Trogner said it was a fun balancing act. To start, we boosted the Simcoe. This complex hop’s notes of apricot, peach rings and bright citrus are the star of the show. Azacca enters the picture to add hints of juicy orchard fruit, and Munich malt brings a bready sweetness. To strike a balancing note, Columbus joins Nugget hops, grounding this limited release with a layer of dank pine.
We don’t expect this 9.5% Double Imperial Amber Ale to last long. Double Nugget goes on sale at 11 a.m. Mon/Jan. 24 here at Tröegs and at shop.troegs.com. There is a two 4-pack limit. Online orders available for pickup within four days.
