Since its debut more than a decade ago, this Winter IPA has become a mainstay of our rotating seasonal beer series and a cold-weather favorite of our fans.
“Blizzard of Hops really has become a wildly popular winter seasonal for us, especially in our home state of Pennsylvania,” says our brewmaster and co-founding brother John Trogner. “We first brewed it as a tribute to hop growers around the world, and it quickly became a fan favorite.”
Brimming with lively bitterness, Blizzard of Hops evokes notes of spruce tips, pineapple, and orange rind thanks to a combination of Centennial, Chinook, El Dorado, and Galaxy hops.
“In the winter, our taste buds dull a bit, so we tend to eat richer, fattier foods,” explains Trogner. “The bitterness of Blizzard of Hops really helps balance that out.”
Clocking in at 6.4% ABV, Blizzard of Hops is built on a foundation of pilsner malt and wheat to help temper the bitterness and provide a soft, pillowy mouthfeel… much like the fluffy snowflakes the beer evokes.
“It’s the perfect beer to drink while you’re shoveling snow,” adds Trogner.
Blizzard of Hops is available on draft and in 12-oz bottles and cans everywhere our beer is sold.
