The new year is upon us, and we’re ringing in 2025 with the release of a true Tröegs icon. A lot has changed about our brewery over the last 21 years, but for us, Nugget Nectar has been a constant. And this year, our iconic Imperial Amber Ale comes of age!
To celebrate Nugget’s return, we’ve rolled out limited-edition throwback packaging with the recognizable fist-squeezing juicy hop and bright orange background that’s long been a favorite among Tröegs fans.
It’s no surprise that Nugget hops take center stage in this hop-forward beer, adding dank notes of pine and grapefruit. Simcoe lends hints of ripe mango and creamsicle, and the assertive hop character is balanced with enough kilned malt to add body and a touch of sweetness.
With its beautiful orange color, big hop flavor and 7.5% ABV, Nugget Nectar provides plenty of warmth on the dark, cold winter nights ahead.
To add to the festivities, we’ll be hosting Nugget Weekend, a 4-day celebration of all things Nugget Nectar, at our brewery from Thursday, January 16 through Sunday, January 19.
Of course, there will be plenty of fresh Nugget Nectar flowing throughout the weekend, and we’ll also preview an early draft-only release of Double Nugget Nectar, an amped-up 9.5% ABV version of the original, as well as Nitro Nugget, an incredibly smooth and creamy version carbonated with nitrogen.

Over in the Snack Bar, we’ll be serving up Alligator Nuggets tossed in apricot chili sauce all weekend long. Other happenings include a special Nugget firkin tapping on Friday, vinyl DJs His & Hers Music on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Sunday Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
And be sure to watch for “21 Years of Nugget Nectar” events across our entire distribution footprint featuring fresh Nugget Nectar on tap and select celebrations featuring Double Nugget and Nitro Nugget. Many of these events will feature glassware and Nugget swag giveaways, too!
